Getting Started with Reporting

This article includes a high level overview of reporting. Each assessment offers different reports. This means certain reports are only available for some assessments (i.e. accreditation, major/unit level/hall, comparative, branching).

Overview

To gain full access to View Reports, only order contacts and order administrators are authorized. If you wish to request access to view reports, please reach out to the order administrator at your institution. For order administrators who need to grant report access to others, please refer to our Share Reports article for instructions.

Check out our How to Use Benchworks YouTube Playlist and Executive Summary Overview for more tips on getting started with reporting in Benchworks.

Once you log in, you will find the option to access View Reports under the section "My Orders". Additionally, when you hover over the name of an assessment, you will see the option to view reports.

Once you are on the View Reports page, you can select a report by clicking on any of the report headings in the left accordion navigation menu. Another option is to click on the "Go" buttons.

Executive Summary

When you first access the View Reports page, you will come to the Executive Summary tab. This tab contains reports that provide a high-level overview of your assessment results. It's important to note that the availability of the Executive Summary may vary depending on the assessment timeline. You may select from a One Page Overview or the Interactive Overview which includes drilldowns.

Interactive Reports

These reports provide internal data on the collective responses of your participants to the survey. These reports can be filtered and are accessible as soon as at least 6 participants have responded.

To begin viewing reports, simply click on a report in the left navigation menu.

  • Survey Snapshot: Survey results in the order the questions appear on the actual survey
  • Factors: Number of responses, standard deviation and mean for all factors. Factors are a group of statistically related questions which describe a broad concept more completely than just a single question.
  • Institution Specific Questions (ISQ): Optionally added questions written by your institution which pertain specifically to your institution.

Comparative Reports

Comparative Reports are made available later in the academic year after all participating assessments have been completed. These reports provide data that compares your institution to Select 6, the Carnegie Class, all participating institutions, and longitudinally over time. It's important to note that these reports cannot be filtered.

To begin viewing reports, simply click on a report in the left navigation menu.

  • Longitudinal Changes (if applicable): Access reports showing the changes in your data over time through Factor Trends and Factor/Question Details.
  • External Benchmark Comparison (if applicable): Access comparisons to your Select 6, Carnegie Class, and All Institutions through an Overview, including Factor Details.
  • Accreditation Standards (if applicable): Longitudinal Report of Accreditation Standards
